Abstract Purpose of Review Compulsive sexual behavior disorder has been recently included in the 11th revision International Classification Diseases (ICD-11), and possible contribution neurochemical hormonal factors have reported. However, relatively little is known concerning neurobiology underlying this disorder. The aim article to review discuss published findings area. Recent Findings Evidence suggests that neuroendocrine systems are involved pathophysiology compulsive behavior. hypothalamus-pituitary adrenal axis, hypothalamus-pituitary–gonadal oxytocinergic system implicated. Summary Further studies needed elucidate exact involvement Prospective longitudinal particularly needed, especially those considering co-occurring psychiatric disorders obtaining assessments experimental circumstances with appropriate control groups.
